Urethane
Urethane is a San Diego–based punk band formed in 2020. Drawing from skate punk and melodic hardcore, the band prioritizes speed, tension, and tightly structured songs built for momentum rather than nostalgia. The writing is direct, focused, and emotionally restrained, emphasizing urgency over polish. Urethane was formed by members with backgrounds in punk, hardcore, and skate culture, including Tim Fennelly (vocals, guitar), Chad Ruiz (bass), and Dylan Wade (drums). Guitarist Steve Caballero (guitar) was an early member and is no longer part of the band as of late 2025. Mario J. Rivera (guitar) joined the band in 2026, rounding out the four-piece.
The band’s debut album, Chasing Horizons (2021, Cyber Tracks), was produced by Cameron Webb (Motörhead, NOFX, Alkaline Trio) and featured guest appearances from Toby Morse (H2O) and Jim Lindberg (Pennywise). Urethane followed with the Dog Years EP (2024, Cyber Tracks), also produced by Cameron Webb, included additional guest contributions from Matt Hensley (Flogging Molly) and Brenna Red (The Last Gang).
Since then, the band has transitioned to self-released material, issuing the singles “Eggshells” (December 2025) and “Swan Dive” (February 2026). Urethane has toured extensively across North America, Europe, and Asia and continues to maintain an active touring and release schedule.
